Dragon Tales

An OCCT original theatre production – the first show premiered in 1995. It has been redesigned several times with the last revamp work done in 2022-23 at our home theatre in Tillamook.

The show is an introduction to Puppetry & the Art of the Mask.

It tells three stories of Dragons from around the world:

  • “Singing Bones” by the Brothers Grimm
  • Tales of Dragon Slayers like that of St. George
  • A Chinese folk tale of a princess who falls in love with a Wild Oriental Dragon.

The SAGA Project

Nissen Tomten Yule Tile SAGA Project
Nissen Tomten - Yule Tile

The SAGA Project was started in 2019 thanks to seed funds from the Barbro Osher Pro Suecia Foundation. The Osher Foundation supports Scandinavian Heritage Projects. Mr. Adrian & Mrs, Kirk are both of Scandinavian Heritage and OCCT/OCCCA has done several programs and toured to Scan Fests, & Nordic Lodges & Museums.

This is a sculptural ceramic family workshop that introduces patrons to Olde Norse & Viking Heritage. Ceramic tiles are based on historic carvings in wood & stone, and Olde Norse Tales from the Viking Era Sagas of Norse Gods and History.

To date over 30 tile sets have been designed as part of planned workshops. Patrons can also order tiles in bisque form to paint or glaze themselves. For a complete list of tiles contact Art Center Directors, or to schedule a family workshop for your location.
